Vintage Sakiori Tote Bag

Tote bag made with vintage sakiori fabric. 
The base is the kakishibu heavy sashiko fabric. 
The inside lining is indigo flannel fabric.
Sakiori is considered a folk art and a valuable traditional craft. It is a traditional Japanese hand-weaving technique that repurposes old cloth into new fabric by tearing it into strips and weaving them with new warp threads. This bag is made with vintage sakiori fabric that is still in excellent condition.
